The display will show “service now” or”- – -“.
Release trip meter button then turn clock adjuster to the right.
Release clock adjuster.

VW use a couple of different dash varients and i will be posting more as i get time.
Please note this procedure should only be used after you car has been serviced and would qeustion any company who is unable to reset the
service/oil light either using diagnostic equipment or using this method after they have have serviced a vehicIe.
Thank you very much for the simple instructions for resetting my Golf V5…… SERVICE NOW dashboard reminder, they were so simple to follow. On my model I chose the 2 year service arrangement but they always tried to force me into the I year option, so never inserted the 2 year reminder. Thanks again.
Thank you for looking at the web site, I am glad the information proved of use to you.

This helped out one of my customers.
Thanks for the post
Hi, my golf’s trip button is faulty so nothing happens when press it, it doesn’t reset the trip numbers either. Any other way to reset the service light without using the trip button? Thanks
The only way to reset it will be through the diagnostic sockket with the appropriate tool.
Thank you for looking at the site.
Thank you – We deal with scrap car salvage as well. I tried this in a salvageable vehicle and it saved me both time and money, which is important. Good advice to doubt a garage that cannot deal with this post service but the real victory is in saving the time and money with having someone deal with it at your premises or having to take the vehicle in to someone to deal with it.
Thank you for the reply, I am glad you found the blog useful.
