Ford Mondeo Auto-Lock

Here is a neat little modification upgrade for Ford MK3 Mondeo owners;

This will Auto-Lock your doors when you travel at over 3mph in forward or reverse gear.

Here is how:

Sitting in the car all doors closed.

Turn the ignition to  position II (2)  this is where all the ignition lights come on but before the engine starts.

Lock then unlock the doors  from the drivers door do not open the door, do this 3 times ie. lock-unlock,lock-unlock,lock-unlock.

Switch OFF the ignition.

Lock then unlock the doors from the drivers door do not open the door, do this 3 times ie. lock-unlock,lock-unlock,lock-unlock.

Turn the ignition to position II (2) this is where all the ignition lights come on but before the engine starts.

Now you should here a “chime” or “beep”.

Lock the door then unlock just the once.

Now you should here another “chime” or “beep”

Have fun.

    That is such a cool tip, I wish more service businesses had this sort of attitude! All too often mechanics try to take advantage of a customer’s ignorance.

    What a neat little trick. Do all cars have little tricks like this?

    • Richie November 30, 2011 at 6:46 pm - Reply

      Thanks Kay
      Alot of cars have functions that the owner can activate/de-activate without the need of the main dealer or mechanics with specialist equipment like myself, I hope to highlight that paying extra for service lights to be reset after your car has been serviced is not on it’s something i know some garages do.
      I believe that being honest and offering a good diagnostic and repair service is the only way to build and keep customers.
